Micafil Vermiculite Loose Fill Insulation (100ltr)
Micafil Vermiculite Loose Fill Insulation (100ltr) is one of the simplest and most reliable solutions for fireproof chimney backfill and thermal insulation in cramped, awkward areas. This product is a premium-quality, coarse-grained vermiculite that we recommend highly as roof insulation when foam or earth wool alternatives can't be fitted in the space.
Vermiculite is a naturally occurring mineral which has been heat-treated to expand it into ultra-light, air-filled, granules with a large surface area. The microscopic air pockets in the granules act as a barrier to radiated heat, giving this material its highly effective insulating properties.
Micafil is packaged in large, 100-litre sacks, covering around 1.067m3. The granules can be loose poured directly into the area to be insulated, or transferred via a smaller bucket or jug. This material has no health or environmental risks, but its ultra-lightweight needs to be taken into consideration in windy conditions.
