Marley Rivendale Fibre Cement Slates

Marley Rivendale fibre cement slates feature a subtly textured face, along with dressed edges. This good looking, blue-black slate is an affordable alternative to traditional slate, with the added advantages of lighter weight and faster installation.

Marley Rivendale slate offers first-class performance all-round, with a low carbon footprint and a potential BRE ‘Green Guide’ rating of A+.

Though quicker and easier to work than traditional quarried slate, installation of Rivendale fibre cement slate follows the familiar guidelines of BS 8000-6 and BS 5534. No special cutting techniques are needed – just use a scribe and straight-edge, or a hacksaw with a 3mm blade when needed. Marley’s slates are delivered pre-drilled, but additional 4mm holes can be drilled as required.

Here is a fixing guide for these slates: Marley Fibre Cement Slates Fixing Guide.

Buyers notes:
Marley Eternit recommends the use of copper nails & copper disc rivets when fixing fibre cement slates.

Due to the close fitting nature of fibre cement slates, in accordance to BS5250, ventilation of the roof space is required (normally at eaves and at high level). The easiest way to achieve this is to install eaves vents and dry ridge systems.
