Annular Ring Shank Nails

To resist corrosion caused by rain and pollution, ARS nails are manufactured in either copper or stainless steel. Both varieties have a large, clout head and a deeply ridged shank. The clout head is easier to work, and is also less likely to wear its way through the soft lead. The ridged shank grips timber much more effectively than a normal, smooth nail. Our copper ARS nails come in 1kg boxes – ideal for trade use.

With its long life expectancy and first-class performance, sheet lead is as popular as ever as a roofing material for flashings and panels. Lead panels in particular require special skills, tools and fixings  to deliver a stable, weatherproof installation that will give more than 60 years of trouble-free service.

Without the best fixings and stabilising clips, sheet lead can be prone to wind-lift when installed on an exposed property. Lead drag is another problem. Ordinary nails can be pulled right out of the supporting woodwork by the weight of the lead, combined with its movement due to thermal expansion and contraction.

After stocking up on your nails check out our great prices on Code 4 Lead Flashing, and our superb lead fixing clips. For the perfect finish, we stock Midland Lead Patination Oil – one of the best brands on the market!
