Eaves Comb Filler
Installing eaves comb fillers between the roofing membrane and profiled tiles blocks the gaps and prevents the entry of pests. Profiled tiles on a roof create a potential nesting site for bats, birds and insects.
Eaves Comb Fillers are a solution to preventing the entry of bats, birds and insects.
Whenever profiled tiles are installed on a roof they potentially create nesting sites for bats, birds and insects. Installing Eaves Comb Filler strips between the roofing membrane and profiled tiles blocks the gaps and prevents the entry of pests.
The traditional solution to this problem was often to fill the end of the profile tile section with mortar. This was commonly done along the full length of the eaves above the soffit. Naturally, over time the mortar would often become cracked and dislodged.
Eaves Comb Filler strip sections do a much better job, without resorting to mortar. These injection moulded, polypropylene strips are cheap and easy to work with. For the roofer on-site, installation is an easy job. The strips are simply nailed along the length of the soffit.
Once the profiled roof tiles are placed on top of the flexible comb ‘fingers’, the gaps are sealed against airborne pests. The added benefit is that the space between the fingers allows free airflow for extra ventilation between the membrane and tiles.
